bnd, don't know how I missed you in my response. I can't figure out how to use the Scantron's to do graduate level essay exams, or believe me I would.
Florida is NOT well known for valuing education and it sure shows in our class sizes. Our budgets are so bad that the state is talking about cutting teachers and faculty at all levels, from K through post grad. Now of course, hell would freeze over before they passed a state income tax, but we pay a small fortune to have a standardized test administered to every student from 3-12. Really good science: take one measure of performance using one method of assessment on one day out of the year and pretend it means something! I hate it when legislators think they know anything about testing & measurement!
