Thread locked.

I forgot how to link to my old thread, so this is it, I think.

It's been a busy week with finals, grading, projects etc. Have had to make the 140 mile round trip commute 3 times already this week. Bleh, too long.

It is getting summery here, which is fine by me, except for the electric bills.

I've about come around to hoping XH will get the job and move away with Nasty New Mrs. XH.

No real news, just need to start a thread.

Oh my gosh! I am finally first.

Can I save my drink for this afternoon? It's only 8 am and I have to work today! I'll have a mojito please!

Yeah, hopefully, they'll move far, far away...maybe another planet...oh, right...he's already on another planet, lol!

hi nic,

I'll have that mojito waiting for you around 5ish.

Yup, another planet just about sums up his location already.

Okay, off to last class of the term. Projects to grade, people to see.

Thanks for visitin'.

OMG I love mojitos!

I just have this feeling mamma, that if he moves, it will be such a great and new beginning for you.

Have fun grading

When my sister starts grading, I have to leave the room b/c she gets sooooooo snarky with me.

Have a great day

Hi AH,

Hope you're having a peaceful day so far.

So it finally hit my feeble brain that you all must work in the same school? What is the deal with teachers? There are so many people here whose spouses are teachers AND WAW's. It's as if the school system is so accepting of this behavior. Maybe it's justbecome so commonplace. I remember 15 years ago when a neighbor I had was having an affair with another teacher. They were separated and transfered out asap. In fact it was so uncomfortable my neighbor ended up moving away. My biggest regret is that not having been through this yet I remember feeling a little sad for her.

Hey P!

The best thing about grading and midterms...it's almost OVER!!

I'm taking off two maybe three weeks this summer.

I can hardly wait!

The kids get downright obnoxious this time of year....I really don't remember being like that

Lots going on down south, fireworks should be seen up North within the week

Take care!! I hear this weekend is going to be "The Best"!

Hugs,

Jeanette

My last day of teaching is on Monday, then I have oral presentations for two weeks and then...term papers!!!! \:D

But the students never pick those up, so the grading is easier b/c I don't have to make comments.

Have a great weekend!

fig that's not good about the principal, makes your life unpleasant. 'Course in my case, the Dean is, you guessed it, X! Could be worse, but I can't quite figure out how...

Bethie, yes, we all work for the same College in the same uni. X is the big boss, OW is a staff member who works directly for X, I'm a plain old garden variety professor. Thank the lord they are off campus a great deal, and I can do at least 50% of my work from home...

lissie, snarky is exactly the word to describe my behavior after four or five hours of grading.

This summer, my GRADUATE class has 68 students registered. I will probably be snarky for 8 solid weeks. But it does pay the bills, which is just the tiniest benefit!

sparkles,
hey I'm glad you posted. I've seen you post several times over in MLC on others' threads so I know you've been around.

So what exactly are we talking about in terms of fireworks????

Hugs

I sooooooo relate to this...I mostly make the comments in anticipation of the one or two students who will want me to "justify" their grade...a memory jog for my aging memory. (The rest of them usually think they got off lucky! my exams are well known to be very comprehensive...not hard so much as very, very thorough)

I have one small set of exams left and two small sets of group projects. I could finish this weekend but I probably won't since the weather is terrific, and there is an arts festival downtown over the bridge on the "mainland."

Thanks all for visiting. I'm enjoying Saturday morning tremendously, I actually have an extra couple of hours to read my Vanity Fair. I love the long articles but they take time! S15 is, of course, sound asleep still.
