Second, letting your H know you are talking to a L may be a huge wake-up call for him.
I'd go with this first, before you do anything else. A L can't make him leave unless you go through a court battle, but letting him know you mean business might. Take time to think, don't rush into anything right now, if going dark helps you clear your head then go with that.
