I second F21's recommendation for red wine. The key is not drinking that skunky jug o' wine. I prowl the aisles looking for the expensive wines on a good sale....H just found a nice Zin that's usually $16 for $8.
Plus, two glasses and you feel all floaty...like after a massage. And if anyone gives you sh!t, you can just tell them it's part of taking care of your heart....
Low carb options also include rum and diet...or rum and crystal light...or vodka and the same. OH...(dam I know too much about liquor...)...one of my favorites is Three Olives cherry flavored vodka and diet coke. Tastes just like cherry coke!

Okay, so I just read an article today that says that red wine inactivates some enzyme that is responsible for absorbing glucose from your gut. In other words - the red wine blocks the sugar from the chocolate truffle! Sounds like an ideal diet drink to me!
Um, bethie, you're talking too much again. Somebody gag her, please. AA, no, but I do need to take a break from beer and margs. And F21, I KNOW, but I REALLY don't like red wine. I have a sweet tooth, you see.
So... the personal challenge is going well. I've been doing wonderfully with eating (But I'm taking D7 to Chili's for dinner so pray for me) and I've even been exercising. Woo hoo. At least it's a competition which I like. My boss called today to ask if I got the chocolate cake he sent over. Smartie pants won't be laughing when I come to the weigh in Monday with a box of Krispy Kreme's.
So I like the chocolate part of the diet... at least I WOULD like it. But the red wine, I need to think. I'm not as cultured as you ladies...
