Hey SG: I never knew that people still did hula hooping - I loved doing it when I was a kid. It looks fabulous!
Did you know that there are Hoop Batons? Ashley did a routine with a Hoop Baton in Disney World when she was about 11. The baton fits right in the middle of the Hula Hoop and is attached with screws. Most of the routine is done twirling the baton (which is complicated by the hoop - but very intricate). The hoop is usually decorated with garland or fringe which makes it even prettier to watch. Like the routine I just watched on the video - sometimes you roll the hoop around your neck or wrist = she even through it away but it rolled back to her.
