Yesterday--I let myself sleep in, and woke up feeling amazing after tuesday night's concert. I have been feeling really on top of the world. Went to piano class, decided to spend the afternoon biking to the grocery store in incredibly gorgeous weather. Went into school to practice late. I have been in a bit of a funk lately about my playing, but I realized, all I need to do is practice!!!! once I sit down and get started, I start to get curious and excited.... phew!!!
I had a joyful moment dancing to my new cell phone ring with one of my best cello friends.
Today was crazy. We spent the whole day at a retirement community and played *5* concerts. Exhausting. It was wild... very emotional. All kinds of different thoughts. Some of the residents were *so* appreciative and engaged and utterly delighted to have us play for them. This one man in particular had the hugest smile I have EVER seen. After one of the concerts a cute lil old man played an amazing harmonica solo for us, and another cute lil old man told me that he plays the musical saw during Amateur Hour at the retirement community (!!!).
But parts of it were also really sad... I thought about my own grandparents and other elderly loved ones. It brought up all kinds of questions about the meaning of life.... made me want to do yoga every day so I can still kick my leg high in the air (with a fluffy boot on it) when I am 97! I also saw this extremely sweet and "with it" cute lil old lady bring ice cream to her husband, who was definitely no longer "with it", and watching that kind of love.... wow.... B and I would joke about being old together, I still hope we get a chance to!!! Does this make any sense?
Afterwards, I booked straight to yoga class!!! And then made that phone call! Was foiled! Came home! And wrote all about it!!
Oh... my new underwear came in the mail! And my sweater... and my nightie.... I feel so glamorous... I am starting to practice more with my hot 180 outfits.
