I agree with you, I think he is pushing you to fast and hard...I think you have to do what you are comfortable with for you and your kids.
As you say, he has had all the time in the world to think about this, and you have only just started.
If you wait to address these issue's will it cause YOU financial hardship? If not, then stick to your guns and tell him that you haven't even begun to think about these things, and frankly you just aren't ready too.
If he really pushes, I think it might be worth seeing a lawyer, to make sure you are going to be properly protected!
