Just a quick post as my Mom is still here and she's making me a tea as we speak.
So H came over.. he was clean shaven.. don't know if it was for me or not but I'll say it was . He hung around the house.. made chit chat with my Mom, played with D2.. Gave my Mom a kiss on the cheek and said thanks for watching D2... We kissed D2 and then we were out the door.
I asked what time the movie was playing and he said 7:40.. but not to let that dictate our dinner... if we missed the movie we could go bowling or something instead.
We went out for steak.. on the menu they were showing a bunch of different crab dishes... which got me thinking that maybe I should pull out a 180 at dinner.. So once we sat down I suggested we get calamari or crab cakes for an appetizer. He said no, "if we're going to get an appetizer lets get something we both like." So I explained that I thought I would give it a really good try.. that it was time for me to step out of my comfort zone and try these things before turning my nose up at them. He seemed really pleased. We ordered the crab cakes and I have to say they weren't that bad. He also added crab legs to his steak order and shared that with me too.. It wasn't bad either. So over all, he was impressed with me and I was super impressed with me. Conversation was good.. light.. we had laughs... We had a beer and I did a toast to his new face.. and my new career direction.. and we said cheers and I took a sip.. then he said "wait, I'd also like to toast to us".. so I said that sounds like a great idea.. and we toasted our glasses again...
Once we were finished we proceeded to the theatre.. we grabbed a Starbucks on the way (mmmmmm yummy).. we enjoyed the movie.. and he brought me home.
I was SHOCKED when he got out of the car and came to the door with me. When he came in he went straight to the bathroom.. so I figured that's why he came in.. he then suggested we have a tea.. so I made him a tea and myself a tea and he had a couple of cookies and we just sat and talked..
He said he was going to head out so I walked him to the door.. We had a nice hug and a real kiss... he said he'd see me today. I asked that he call in the morning and let me know if he'll arrive before D2's bedtime.. because I don't want to tell her he's coming and then she not get to see him.. so he said that he would.
Overall, I think the night was very successful. I looked great. I felt great!. And in the end he left our house at 11:57pm. It's quite likely that he was still going to head to the bar (since they are open until 2 or 3 am) but he didn't just ditch me after the movie... so it was a good night and it didn't matter so much what he was going to do afterward.
That's it from me. My delivered my tea to me since I was taking so long to type this. I promise I'll come back and check on everyone after she heads home today (if D2 will let me ).
Thanks for concurring that you'd be hurt too... and that I should just focus on the positives. I love this board!! And I'm so grateful to all of you!!
