SG,

Nice to be chased, isn't it? By the way, nothing makes a guy chase harder than when he thinks someone else is courting his prospective Goddess.

I think Jill is right, this could be the "summer of love" all over again

Hi guys!

Yeah, Jill it has been a LOOOONNNNGGGGG time. I had a few dates here and there last summer when I was on Match, but after my experience w/CG I decided to get off and concentrate in my life in general.

So for those folks new to reading this forum here is my personal DB/Survival timeline:

Summer 2002 Found out about first affair. Tried DBing. H swore he was not involved w/OGIRL.

Summer/Fall 2003 I find out H had been playing me for most of the marriage. He moves out. I try DBing, and eventually learn that it doesn't work with a P/A womanizing player.

Fall 04 I start Grad School. Too busy to date! Also single mom to 2 teens!

Winter 06 Graduate Ma. Ed Technology! (Yay me!)

Fall 06 Start and lose hot shot job w/ tech company.(ouch! \:o )

Spring/Summer 07: Do a tiny bit of dating on various sites (Match, and OK Cupid) Meet CG. Get the boot from CG. (ouch! \:o )

Spring 08: Detach completely and forget about dating until now.

So at this point I feel like I have truly worked through many many of my issues. I have done A LOT to GAL. I am busy. I have friends. I have work that I love and a dog that I love and keeps me busy. It has taken about 5 years. I love my life right now. Very happy with the way things are. Very VERY happy to be clear of XH. My life is just better all around without him.

The downside is that this has been hard on the kids. But, my kids are doing great right now. Again, the long view is a good one.

Hang in there! Take good care of yourself!

What a Week!

3 dates in 5 days...2 men!

Well it was a week ago CG e-mailed me and we had our nice drink out. We had a very nice e-mail exchange and then we went out for dinner on Thursday. Sushi and sashimi. More talking. There is such a big difference between him now and last summer. I can tell he is over the last girlfriend. We all remember that shell-shocked feeling of being fresh out of a break up. That is where he was last summer. He even said, I had no business being on Match. Which I appreciated and agreed with. Again, lots of fun and a very lovely time. He has custody of his kids every other week, so we have plans to get together next week, when he is "off". I have to say I find his devotion to the kids very appealing!

Then, I had agreed to have a drink w/the neighbor guy. We had planned on meeting on Friday afternoon, I thought we could meet at a local bar, but he called me and said he wanted to pick me up in one of his cars and then we could go to a bar out in the country. He pulled up in an Aston Martin 3000 convertable!
(Only his was British Racing Green!) While I don't like to tinker with engines much, I do really love riding in fast cars! LOL I had so much fun! I was surprised at how well we got along. He is a bit older than me, Viet Nam vet, and really seems to be the kind of guy who lives a bit on the edge. (Pilot, motorcycles, fast cars...) He would have been happy to stretch the drinks well into the evening, but I had a date with my GF at 6:00 to walk the dogs! LOL!
He also offered to set up another date...next time Napa! I hemmed and hawed...I've heard that when you start dating you should casually date a lot and then narrow it down. Tricky!

The rest of the weekend was loads of fun as well. I saw a good friend and her youngest son, I have known them about 20 years and he is thinking about Ph.D at my local university. We haven't seen each other in a few years.

Sunday morning I visited an agility trial in my area. My friend who runs corgis was there. She took some nice pictures of Argo.

Then in the evening I went to another friend's house for dinner. One of the guests was a woman who made a film about Iran and we watched. Fascinating!

So another fun and busy week under my belt.

Hey SG: You sound AWESOME! You are in the driver's seat. Just have fun. Sounds like you already know that.
