So I asked my S18 about the prom, and if he was going. And he said that 2 girls wanted to go with him, but he told them he wasn't going. But he thinks he'll just go to the "after parties" and then all he'd have to pay for is chipping in on the hotel room. So I sat there a little speechless, and then I said something uncomfortable like, "uh, the hotel room.... it's just so awful the way prom night ends up as sex in a hotel room night." And he said, "Mom, you say the stupidest things!" But that wasn't stupid was it? I was showing that I know what goes on. Right?
