I know how everyone loves my mishaps.... so here's the latest. I decided to drink champagne while taking a swim in the pool So I got into the pool and sipped my champagne from my lovely crystal goblet, and then put the goblet on the side of the pool to immerse myself in the cold water and swim to the other end, and my dog got excited and started running around the pool and kicked the champagne glass, which broke and fell into the pool. SO.... I stupidly reached for the pieces of glass with my toes and pulled them up to the surface. And of course, the glass cut my toe. So now I am sitting here hoping the bleeding will stop telling you my sad tale. And even more stupidly, I am now sitting indoors by the computer drinking from a plastic glass, which I could have used in the first place!
Thank you sara, I needed that today. Keep your tootsies elevated and keep drinking...from plastic!!
Why is the house falling apart since H left? Our garage door broke last week, and this morning, I woke up at 4am to a furnace that sounded like a rocket was about to launch our house. It was scary, and I was angry I was alone with the girls. I got it off, and told H about it on his way to the house at 8am today. He was mad I didn't call him and I calmly said "I got it off, the house was warm, I knew you would be there in a matter of hours. Unless its a kid emergency, I won't be contacting you in the middle of the night."
It was claustrophobic in the house today with both of us there. H came over to 'give me the day off'. Thanks, but a little more notice would be good. He wanted to talk finances/house. Fine, ok. I get 2 sentences out, and he blows up on me, anger everywhere. And nothing about finances. I walk away to get a "Fine, there goes LWB, walking away like she does best." I left the house, but nicely. I will continue to be kind, but I don't think H and I are going to master the 'friends' thing for quite some time. Space space space....
I am better this afternoon and will be EVEN better tomorrow, because I am meeting HOPE and MARK for dinner and hopefully a lot of drinks!!! Oh yeah baby!!!!
Thank you for your kind words about my friend. Sad and sudden, that's for sure.
glad I could brighten your day. Hope the heater is easy to fix. I don't envy you the "angry husband in the house" routine. Insist on email for all business. He has proven that he can't discuss nicely, so email is the best method. Enjoy your day with Mark and Hope. That sounds great!
LWB, I hate that your H CONTINUES to act like an A$$! Ughhhh!!! I know exactly what you mean about the house seeming to fall apart when they leave. This past summer I had a leak in my laundry room ceiling and the inside central air conditioner clogged up an started leaking on the hard wood floors.
The lunch with Hope and Mark sounds great! I know ya'll will have a blast. Wish I was close enough to join ya!
Sara, Sorry to hear about your foot. I agree with everyone else, stay away from sharp objects, LOL. So the dog got you this time instead of the cat, better watch out for your pets! How is N's arm?
Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are. -- Bernice Johnson Reagon
Haven't heard from her today. I guess I should call and check on her. Poor thing. When she was a little girl she broke her right arm, and people used to look at her and say, "Oh, and it's her RIGHT arm....poor thing." And we'd say, "Yeah, but she's a lefty". So I asked her which arm she broke, and she said her left. So now she is incapacitated.
I'm sorry I've been absent from your thread. I've been lurking. I'm sorry about your friend. I've put the offer out there before and I'll do it again. I can be on a plane and in St. Louis pretty quickly if you need a certain person's a$$ kicked. Even just a little kick to make you smile!
Have a good day, okay?
