I really don't think a new puppy would make me feel much better. Can't replace Puppy; he's just the best. And besides, kitty really prefers being an only child.
As for H's b-day I don't have his address so I can't send a card even if I thought it was ok. I don't think handing him one when he comes for puppy would be exactly appropriate. He doesn't want well wishes from me now anyway.
It will be hard to see him when he comes here but I did get through it once before. I am sure he isn't staying long, so I don't anticipate a lengthy talk or anything. It's funny; he really should feel like a stranger to me by now but he really doesn't.
Most of us really marry only once. First love endures, even unto our dying day. And we never really divorce.
