here's two for ya!
The first is "How To Improve Your Marriage Without Talking About It" by Patricia Love and Steven Stosny. It is Michelle approved! the premise is that talking about your relationship doesn't bring you together, and it will eventually drive you apart. A woman's vulnerability to fear and anxiety makes he draw closer, while a man's subtle sensitivity to shame makes him pull away in response. So when W wants to talk about the R, H is thinking "how did I screw up now" and feels shame therefore pulls away. Anyway, read it and find out the rest. I liked it.
The second is "How To Heal A Painful Relationship: And, If Necessary, How To Part As Friends" by Bill Ferguson. It talks quite a bit about forgiveness. It's simple and easy to read it but has some real truths to mull over.

Change Your Life and Everyone In It. Also written by Michelle Weiner-Davis. IMHO, I think its as good or even better than Divorce Busters which I have also read.

THE Man's Guide To Great Relationships and Marriage, by David Cunningham.

This is a downloadable e-book, and I have found it to be very helpful in describing what women find attractive in men, and the stupid things men do to kill that attraction and cause their women to check out of the marriage.

It's written in a VERY direct way, like he is your alpha-male buddy slapping sense into you over a beer.

It's about 30 bucks I think, and downloads directly to your computer.

Terrence Real: How Can I Get Through to You--Reconnecting Men and Women

Terrence Real: The New Rules of Marriage

These are similar in some respects, but Real looks at how both men and women have work to do in overcoming social norms of masculinity and femininity to create closer, more loving relationships. Men have further to go, he argues persuasively.

Susan Anderson, The Journey from Abandonment to Healing
The best book I've seen for those of us dealing with the pain of separation and/or divorce. Offers a thorough explanation of the emotions we feel, the stages we go through, and concrete suggestions for coping along the way and rebuilding our lives to something better.

Anything by Pema Chodron. Seriously. This woman has taught me more about living in the moment, and learning to cope with uncertainty, than I ever thought I would learn. She writes in clear, powerful prose about learning to be with oneself and being a more compassionate person.
