IMHO therein lies the reason for your Hs MLC. That and his overwhelming desire to procreate.

Don't ask me how you get over that b/c I'm having similar probs. No procreation probs obviously but my FIL died of cancer at 57(and this seems to run in his side of the family). I think the good thing in your sitch is that Rich has made the connection and verbalised it whereas my H is still running from it.
