OK, here is the latest!

The doc misjudged how long it takes to do the test. It's a genetic screen, and I guess it takes some time! According to his office, which talked to the lab, the results should be in next Thurday or Friday! So, for another week I can assume I have the simple, easy to treat condition!

I'm sorry I missed out too! I had to work and by the time I got home I was too tired to set up my laptop and check on everyone. The same may go for tonight lol.

I need to buy Baileys before Saturday, thanks for the reminder!

Well, since I really would like to know, and get on with it, it is bad! But, it isn't anything I can do anything about, and in the scheme of things, a week isn't going to matter, so I guess it is neither good nor bad! I do have a hope that some of the potential side affects are in play, and will go away with treatment. (I'm kind of hoping that even if they aren't, there will be a placebo effect. Not sure how rational that is, what does science girl think?)

Hot chocolate and Bailey's was a wonderful idea, I hope I thanked BobbiJo enough!

Hope you had a good day, mine is going ok, just dragging a bit! It's only 1430 here.

Only 14:30, but sunny I hope?

It's 22:15 here now, and going to blow a gale tonight.

The placebo effect- one of my favourite subjects! It does definitely exist, is the first thing, but I think (and the evidence shows) that you have to TRULY believe that something will work for the placebo effect to kick in. Hope is good, but belief is where the real power is at! That's also true for people with serious illnesses- those who keep a PMA and believe in positive outcomes tend to do better overall than those who hope for one (stats obviously, so it's not always true, just the tendency).

So, Engineer Man, I am going to prescribe total and utter belief that the symptoms will disappear with treatment. No room for doubt. Hmmmm.....I think I might have given myself some advice there since the PMA is a bit variable at the moment! Belief is key!

Hope the rest of your day goes well Jeff. I'm off to bed. "To bed, to bed, said sleepy head" ;\)

Thanks for your good wishes! I always appreciate them.

If you lived here, you would be happy every time it rains! We are coming into the best weather though, for a little while. Warm, not too hot, and lots of sun. Then it will get hot!

Ok Jeff, I am confused as to what to say. Are you happy to wait a week or not, happy the side affects will go away with treatment or not? Ok, I know, I hope that it is what you want it to be and you find out soon and that the treatment is easy and guaranteed to produce results. How's that? Now, I had my ice cream and I need a little something to drink before I go to sleep. Any suggestions.

My usual is a glass of ice water! So I might be the wrong person to ask!

Sorry about the confusion! I'd like to know w=for sure what is going on, so that I can get on with it! If it is hemochromatosis, it sounds like the treatment is pretty reliable. What isn't for sure is that the fatigue and stuff like that are related to it. I hope they are, because then they should get better pretty quickly once the treatment (blood letting) starts.

Hmmm, maybe just a small glass of red wine?
