I think I have a bit less traveling to do than Jeff!

But my H was always more of a neat freak than me, until he started his QLC, so my apt is cleaner than when we were still living together, but not as clean as it was when we first started living together.

Although, moving is a darn good excuse to get rid of stuff! Towards the end of the day you just start going, I don't really need this, I'm too tired to move it! Lol.

my house is a mess right now! we're having new floors put in and it's so hard to keep up with all the crud everywhere.

Did get the washer and dryer put back in yesterday, though, so that should help.

Hey Jeff!
I was thinking there....why stop at the nightstand?? What about the rest of the house !?? If your W brother is coming, she will want the whole place to look nice..and that could be bothersome and alot of work for her..wouldnt it be a good 180 if you said to her "I think we should get the house up together for your brother coming?" and then get on and do it !! Like, are there some DIY jobs hanging around..broken handles, or a wall you were meaning to get around to paint. What about just decluttering the main living areas? Sounds like your W wants you to step up a bit more, or am I reading too much into her comment? Or...could you ask her?? "Would you like the rest of the house ship shape, what can I help with?"

I dont know..just want to suggest something to help with the 180s as I know you were asking on another thread about that.

Thankyou for my funny birthday card !! ((((Jeff!))))
Ali

Hey (((((Ali!)))))

You're welcome!

Most of the rest of the house isn't too bad, really. Except for the room that S18 and S19 share. And I'm afraid to go in there! (It is actually improving, slowly. Though S19 didn't leave his stuff as well as he might have done, and I don't think S18 thinks much of cleaning up after him. S18 has plenty of his own to take care of.) Once I get the bedroom (and bathroom) neat and tidy, I need to do something about the closet. It has been the "accumulation point" during the five years we've been in the house. W wants it to bw totally redone, shelves ripped out, and everything replaced. That is going to be quite a project. I think that before the closet, I need to do more outside. The yard (garden, to you, Ali) is pretty large. A loy of it we are purposely leaving in the natural desert state (except for the tumbleweed, which is nasty, and just has to go), but the areas close the hose are a bit more landscaped. Those areas get watered, and surprisingly, the weeds grow where the water is! Stunning! And the wtering system needs to be improved, anyway, as it interferes with the weeding.

I've been feeling pretty tired lately, which makes it hard to get stuff done. The doc is looking at some tests (based on some out-of-normal lab results, not the fatigue, though one of the possible symptoms is fatigue.) I am hopeful for a good outcome, there, and maybe some improvement in how I feel. Of course, depression can also lead to feeling tired. I haven't previsouly thought depression was as issue, but, well, maybe?

It sounds like her brother is visiting for sure. She would rather have him stay at her parents' house. Last time he and his son were here there were some territorial squabbles with our younger boys. Cousin left their room a mess, and they got to take care of it. Since they will be in school while he is here, W would like to avoid a replay of that.

Jeff, don't start thinking of everything that has to be done, it will be overwhelming. If you feel up to it, start with the night stand and then go to the closet. Just clean out the closet for now, you know.

I hope all goes well with your tests. As someone who has suffered with debilitating depression for years (yeah, I am sure you are shocked to hear that since my thread is so upbeat - not!), it could wreak havoc on your body. Fatigue and being a pack rat are sometimes signs of depression. It would certainly be understandable in your situation. Take care of yourself, my friend. Our health is the most important thing.

(((((beginnersmind)))))

Right now I try not to even look at the other side of the room! I'll get it, though. The closet is going to be a real bear. But I won't think about that yet!

The doc is checking for hemochromatosis, a fancy word for too much iron. It accumulates, and can cause liver damage. But it sounds like it can work in the other direction to, so he is trying to determine for sure. Some bloodwork is supposed to come back today. If it doesn't give the anwer, I may get to have a liver biopsy. That sounds like fun!

Depression has crossed my mind. A few months ago W asked if I though I might be depressed! The first thought across my mind was "duh!", but I think I said I didn't think I was clinically depressed.
