Hi again chicki,

I don't claim to know much about God, but I do believe she helps those who help themselves...so with that in mind,

please listen to AG's advice (and others') and get yourself some decent counsel. I know every state differs, but here in Florida my L led me to believe that my attorney's fees would almost certainly be paid by H because (1) he filed and (2) he made more money than I did. And that was the case...when it was all over H had to pay his L fees and mine as well. I'll bet that holds true many places. I know you have to shell out a retainer in advance to your attorney, but you can probably find one that will ask for very little up front.

You eventually may to want to send your kids to college, have you even thought about negotiating that? It is non-standard in many states, and additionally many states stop child support at 18. Remember, it is a negotiation, you may ask for a lot more than you're actually willing to settle for, and surprise him.

Please get some good quality legal advice, for your kids sake at least.

Hugs,
AH
