Hey T! I think its progress you are thinking about contacting him,well done you, I know this must be a bit daunting...

I agree with Lisa, I wouldnt send a postcard (not enough room to write anything meaningful?) and a card...well in the UK , cards are normally sent to people you are close to, for occasssions, like christmas or birthday or whatever. So maybe a letter...but like you say, theres no way of knowing where he is living now. And I would also definetly not send a gift. I cant see that that would be appropriate, but you know your BF best!

I reckon your instinct about an email is the right one, I wouldnt consider email too in-your-face, its pretty innocuous and not a pressure thing I dont think. Thinking of the old friend analogy, would you send a card or present out of the blue to a friend you havent spoken to for 6 months? Probably not, you would probably just whizz them an email, hey, how you doing?

But the wording...thats another story ! Have you had any thoughts about how you might word it? Were you still thinking of trying to see him at spring break, which is soonish isnt it?

As for him saying nasty things...I guess he'd still have to be angry about something to throw nasty words and I cant imagine that he would be angry at you, how could he be, you havent spoken to him! Plus, if he wasnt like that before, maybe hes unlikely to be now.
