I guess one of my initial posts were more on point. You have already made up your mind about what you will do and the outcome that you are willing to live with.
Since you have made a decision to not help yourself, I really see no further point in providing my input since my input requires you to take action on your behalf.
I fully trust that God will bring me victorious in my sitch, I pray to him as I do my homework and research and make sure I know what I'm doing/will be doing.
I pray to Him as I look for a mediator & lawyer asking Him to help me choose wisely as I research for the best people to help me.
God wants you not to worry and to fully trust Him that He will be with you and be your strenght, that doesn't mean that you'll go into this D with a blindfold and hope all things will fall in place.

I don't claim to know much about God, but I do believe she helps those who help themselves...so with that in mind,
please listen to AG's advice (and others') and get yourself some decent counsel. I know every state differs, but here in Florida my L led me to believe that my attorney's fees would almost certainly be paid by H because (1) he filed and (2) he made more money than I did. And that was the case...when it was all over H had to pay his L fees and mine as well. I'll bet that holds true many places. I know you have to shell out a retainer in advance to your attorney, but you can probably find one that will ask for very little up front.
You eventually may to want to send your kids to college, have you even thought about negotiating that? It is non-standard in many states, and additionally many states stop child support at 18. Remember, it is a negotiation, you may ask for a lot more than you're actually willing to settle for, and surprise him.
Please get some good quality legal advice, for your kids sake at least.
This thread reminds me of a story that goes something like this:
There was a man drowning. A boat comes up and the person says "Are you alright? Wanna Come with me?" But the man replies "No God will save me." A second boat comes up and asks the same thing. He replies "No God will save me." He dies from drowning and once he gets to heaven and asks God "Why didn't you save me?" God replies "I sent 2 boats for you, why didn't you take the help I offered?"
