The thing about Arizona landscaping is that it fights back! Everything has spines, or stickers, or worse! The grasses have timy little stickies that get in your socks, they hurt, but they are almost impossible to find and remove. Most of the trees have stickers or spines. The cactii are, well, almost all spinyy and stickery! Some have nice barbs that make them really hard to remove once they get in you!
On the other hand, I think it is beauticul in it's own, very rugged way! And we had rain this winter, so the claim is that we should be in for an excellent wildflower season!
