Hey Jilly!

Wanna come visit me? That will be my excuse not to leave. OOPS - needed to "house" a dear friend. Couldn't go home. Boo Hoo.

Say the word!

Well, my day started off weird - there was a plane crash in nearby Titusville, not a good thing, especially when you're flying that day.

Then I found out as I was leaving for the aiport that my rental car had a flat! Why today? It was fine for 30 other days! Spoke to the company, but fearing I would miss my flight (yes, I DID consider it an excuse to do so), I ditched the car (they'll pick it up) and took a cab ($58), but it was quick and everyone was SO nice to me.

Plane had mechanical difficulties (GREAT!), left late, then sat on Runway for an hour. Not good. Home to a TON of snow.

But I am HOME! ANd my kitties are going nuts. THey are just so adorable. Tripping over each other to get my attention. Sure do love those babies!

I have decided to stay indoors until Spring (well, except for work and a few other commitments). Next year - 2 months (unless I'm in the South Pacific, which would be even nicer).

Yes, my life is good after divorce. I'm living the life I had wanted.

My ex cancelled his visit with Ryan. He is sick once again. He is always sick. Wonder if he considers his life good after divorce??? LOL!

Hi Barb

Welcome home to the Great White North! Oh it's not all that bad. If you think we have tons of snow now, listen to the forecast - they're calling for 20 - 30 cms by next weekend.

This is the best weather you can possibly ask for if you're an avid skier. Now there's an idea. I haven't skied in 10 years.

Sounds like you had opportunities to back out from coming back home, first with the car and then with the flight but you must've missed those babies of yours.

Sounds like you are feeling positive about your life and when you do only more positive things will appear.

Doesn't seem like your XH is enjoying his life as much.

Now if you miss the sun, I'm sure you can catch some on the ski slopes

WELCOME HOME, BARB!!!

Last time we leased a car in FL, it wouldn't start one day. We wasted an entire day waiting for them to bring us a different one. YIKES!!!

Ya know, next year when you go down for a month, I'm gonna plan on visiting my parents while you're there. We're gonna meet yet!!!

ISLH: That was uplifting! The sun is shining brightly, the house is warm - nary a cloud in the sky. If I stay indoors it won't bother me. I'll deal with the YUCK tommorrow when I go back to work. The thing is - I only actually go in one day a week (Mondays) for a couple of hours. Yes, I run the place but I do most of it from home and on my pc - can be done anywhere. Next week is Spring Break here so I get that week off. I even dreamed last night I was flying home but returning the very next day. Hmmm...

But there is so much to do. I forgot how messy I left my craft room. My suitcases are so full of my hobby stuff - it will take forever to unpack and organize. And the mail - well, that's another story - I got started but of course - just opened the fun stuff!

I can't imagine my ex's life being good. He is married to controlling maggot and can't change his clothes without permission, never mind go to the store or take his kids away for a weekend. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. And I DO! (Well, except going back to Florida and who knows?) I actually spent much less this year than usual (mostly because Ashley was not with me). Ashley's last min trip was SO cheap. I paid $69 each way for her flights, she shared my room. I was on the dining plan and unable to eat all the meals so she and Josh ate what I couldn't (in any restaurant in Disney - how cool is that?), my friends left me lots of unused park tickets that would expire from our baton twirling event so she had unlimited free use of the Disney parks and she used her own money for the things she wanted to buy. Yes - I had her there for 4 days for under $150!

Now I have to start into my "TO DO" list. I also need to wake up. My kitties have cuddled me so much. I don't think they want me to do that again for a while. But I'm going to research a 6 to 8 week trip next year.

Yep, Jilly Bean - I would LOVE that. Or we will move ahead with the cruise idea, but it seems less likely since Josh wants to do the South Pacific vacation so soon. I will not balk at his suggestions, though, as this is a lifelong dream for me.

We had "Electives" we could take in Jr High. (Grade 7). I took a course just on "Australia" as our principal offered it and he was from there. I vowed then, at age 13 that I was going to Australia. Chuck and I spoke of it often, perhaps for our 25th but to be away for 3 t 4 weeks when we have Ryan and younger kids was too much. We did get away once to Hawaii for 3 weeks but after that - we returned twice WITH the kids.

It is so cool that Josh and I spoke of the same dream from the start. New Zealand does not interest me as much (but I haven't studied it much yet - I'm certainly open to it). But he spent a month there and wants to show me around. My dream trip would be to start in New Zealand, do Australia, then a week in Hawaii on the return so I could show him around.

Looking at some Mini venues in the coming months. Last summer I nearly jumped in the car and did a solo road trip your way. There is a new minis museum open in the Kalamazoo area as well as wonderful shops around the state and I want to go to Frankenmuth. Josh suddenly mentioned us going to Mackinaw as well which surprised me because staying at the Grand has also been on my "To Do" list. Me thinks he has been listening, absorbing and he really does aim to please. He just does it in such an offhanded way, I don't always "get it" till later. But I'm no fool - these are wonderful offers.

So, Jilly, we will meet. And Bethie better be coming to see me in Chicago next month, right Beth???? Too many near misses for us. It is time. After all, it has been over a year since I met Karen.

I LOVE Frankenmeuth and Mackinac. Was at both last summer!!! We did not stay at the Grand tho, as it was for a scuba diving trip and MG's group had already booked somewhere else. If you get to Mackinac, make sure you get to St. Ignace (I think that's the name of it, anyway). It's quieter, great shops and food, etc. Kalamazoo is where my D goes to school. It would be great to meet you there!!!

Hi Beth!

I fly in on Tues, April 2 and head home on Sun, April 6. I am taking classes Wed, Thurs and Fri during the day and attending a show Fri, Sat and Sun. It would be great to plan to meet on Thurs night, but if you want to hook up with ALthea, I'll have to see when she'd like to meet. I think she flies in on the Thurs. We plan to meet, but nothing is specific yet.

Be sure to free up an evening - we have YEARS to catch up on in person dear friend.
