The "funny" thing is, the first thing almost anyone says to someone new (I'll bet this includes the banned posters) isread DR! The nose is getting cut off to spite the face! fw posts that might not be textbook DB advice, and someone gets banned? Or posts are deleted without explanation. I imagine that there are a lot of books sold as a result of people finding this site. A mass exodus, as in the SSM forum, isn't going to help that, is it?

Well, this may sound odd but I'm so glad to have found this thread, 'cause it explains so much. I've only been visiting the board once a week or so, and I thought I had entered the twilight zone when I saw all the weird new thread titles and the missing resources links.

So....in addition to hating censorship on principle, I have to say that some of the naively Pollyannaish advice being dispensed is downright dangerous, not to mention insensitive. I really can't imagine that within hours of having told a teenage child about an impending D, that I want or need to hear "Ok now, that's all very fine and good, but what you really need is to get you some goals." Gag.

Like brue, I'm turning 54 in days, and I don't want or need to waste time in a forum where the advice is indiscriminately dispensed without any reference to the individual's particular situation. That is lazy and disrespectful, in my not so humble opinion.

There. That felt good, didn't it!

My goodness, isn't there enough negativity in our world? Don't you know that if you just think POSITIVE your M will be saved? And if it isn't, it's just b/c you were too negative!!!
