Fish, I had asked her about jewelry last week, because she was wearing the aforementioned earrings. I just asked her if her tastes had changed, or if she still liked that kind of stuff. She said she would get back to me. I hadn't asked again. She brought it up this morning as a means of opening a dialog, I think.
The 'something very nice' she mentioned, is her birthday gift, she already knows what it is.
