Forget about him for now. Forget his antics. Take care of Treese. It sure is true that you would appreciate him behaving more reasonably and responsibly. But he isn't, and he's in no position to hear your viewpoint right now.
Best you can do is keep people informed of what is happening from your side.
They want it to be mutual, it is a way for them to save face. They say things they want to be true. Doesn't matter to you though. You don't need to accept their truth. For example, my wife says I was abusive for 22 years, and that I am stalking and surveilling her. That's what she says, maybe she even believes it to be true. But I know what really is true. I'm not going to ask her to stop saying it. I decided to let people know my truth, and let it be, at that.
