E, Can't help you too much with this one. My H (and yes, he's been in his own apt. for almost 2.5 years now) did go through a time where he complained about his lack of money, but I think that it was a blow to his ego when my family members started asking me if I needed money, so he stopped. I rarely ask for anything from him; I would rather go without than ask. I'm pretty low maintainence and the odd kind of girl who hates to shop, so I don't really go through a lot of money anyway.
When we went to mediation he actually willingly gave me more than his lawyer suggested.
So, I've been pretty lucky.
You're doing the right thing..."I know things will be tough for you," etc.
