I would refuse to sign too. In TX there was only a 60 day waiting period after filing. Short and Cheap.

Yeah, he has no reason not to agree to refile. I just hope he will send the info to you without it being a big hassel.

Well, he deliberately called while I was in class so he could leave me a voicemail.

He wanted to know if I'd filed, if I wanted to file jointly. Talked about submitting corrections, wants me to send him my W-2s. I'm really not comfortable with all that, especially since he's not good at taxes to begin with.

I called him back, he didn't answer of course. I left him a voicemail saying no, I hadn't filed yet, I had waited because I thought we should talk about this stuff since it affected us both financially, that of course we'll get more money filing jointly, that I'd like to do the corrections. I tried to be pleasant, but I was VERY annoyed since I'd already told him I didn't file and that I would get way more money back jointly so I don't know why he's asking me the SAME F'ING questions AGAIN other than, as usual, he didn't REALLY pay attention the first time around.

And if he really wanted to get this all figured out, you'd think he'd answer the phone instead of playing voicemail tag for THREE DAYS!

Yeah, I would have been frustrated too. Does he know he would have to do it on paper?? I wouldn't feel comfortable with him doing them either. He would probably never get around to doing it, especially since it wouldn't affect him negatively if he didn't....remember his are already filed. He is very irresponsible right now and I just wouldn't trust him to do it.

I agree this could have been taken care of already. He could just email you his return and be done with it. I hope he cooperates with you on this.

I have no idea what he knows. His IM away message says he's at one of his favorite dive restaurant/bars with one of his friends. The one he plans on living with next year. Which explains why he didn't answer his phone, couldn't have that guy see him talking to his wife after all. Let's never mind that when the stupid slut called him when we were having dinner there he jumped up and walked away to answer his phone.

If he doesn't maybe you can send him an email telling him that it has to be done on paper and if he can just send you his info you would be willing to do all the legwork...kind of like you are doing him a favor. Maybe even make it seem like more of a hassel..but ALL he has to do is send the info.

*sighs* Okay, done ranting for the night. No call from him. If he calls me after 9 I'll just be pissed anyways since I'll probably be half asleep on the couch watching MASH reruns and watching my bottle of wine dwindle.

I like the e-mail idea. I'll contact him tomorrow. I think e-mail is good since there is a record and also he can read it as many times as it takes to sink in lol.

You mentioned something on my thread about accessing his mypay. Maybe you could try that. Would both of his W2's be on there? If so, that may be the route to go. Just keep reminding him that he will get more money back and you will do all the work. I hope he wors with you on this.

So, I'm sick today. Called in sick to work, generally been miserable. Body aches, sore throat, headache, and just feeling exhausted. Pretty much slept all day. H just IMd me, hopefully I'll have a good update in a few minutes.

He's insisting on doing them, which is a total 180 for him. And I'm not entirely comfortable with because he's not terribly good with taxes, although turbo tax helps. Plus he doesn't know where I live, after the last time he freaked out on me, I have avoided giving him my address. Which he will now have off my W-2s. :-(

I was referring to my birthday present from 2006 being going shooting with him and his M14. No response from him.
