I just talked my my lawyer and he said it was the step before divorse that divides the assets. She is still leaving notes all over the place for me to see. She loves for me to be miserable and will do anything to make me that way. I am PMAing all over the place. Smile, smile, smile! I came in the house laughing today at lunch and she said what the hell are laughing at.

You're having quite the effect on her. She's really testing you. Keep smiling.

Be careful... this sounds like a potential War of the Roses type situation.

The "notes" thing is really creepy.

Wifey left me a msg letting me know that she is home from Europe and looking forward to dinner.

Good luck BT... but be careful.... you may need to sleep with one eye open.

My sister just said the same thing, to sleep with one eye open. My lawyer just said why would she ask for a separation agreement. She has the best of all worlds. I am out of her hair, I am paying the bills and she can do what ever she wants. She would have to be nuts. I know if I have the time I can turn this thing around. Pray for me.

Sep Agreement is much as you say. Differs somewhat state to state. Most states require some kind of agreement for an uncontested divorce. So, drawing that agreement is the precursor. To make things go smoothest, it's best if H and W can work out the differences and splits before it gets to a judge. It can take some time to come up with an agreement....

knowing the law and your rights in your state is not a bad thing. Easy enough to find the broad strokes for free with a Google search.

BTW, nice move with noticing, reading and not commenting about the notes. That's the way to do it.

It's tough Z but I can do good sometimes. I think she is very confused and very angre. I can't get my mind off this financial stuff but everyone tells me it is just formula's and it will all work out in the end. I just can't even think of paying her any alimony when she is tossing me aside. I will pay anything for my kids but her after she feeds me a s*it sandwich she wants money for the rest of her life also? Hopefully I can save the M and it won't come to that.

She is totally nuts. The things that come out of her mouth are unreal. I wonder if she writes all this stuff herself or she gets it from some MLC handbook. She is nuts. She says we agree to stuff we never spoke about before. GOD HELP ME!

I don't know how much longer I can do this.

Broken Tree,

My W did some of that. There would be something she wanted and she would present her request to me. I would not agree, but then the next time we spoke she would speak as if I had agreed to what she requested and try to put me on the defensive accusing me of "flip-flopping" or changing my mind.

Funny thing.............. Our young children display a very similar behavior, especially the 6 year old. He will ask for something and if you give him an indefinate answer, he assumes you agreed. (Maybe means yes?) Later if you tell him no, he's immediate response is "but you promised!"

I believe this happens with youngsters because they want something so badly they are communicating with their emotions and don't cognitively hear when you respond with no or maybe.

In mlc it's all emotions and something similar may be going on. They are so focused on what they want they block out or don't hear you saying no.

In mlc they really are functioning on the emotional level of a child;

They want it now
They don't consider affects of their actions on others
They don't understand why they can't have everything they want (now)
They are totally irresponsible
they only want to play
They seek thrills

Their superego is dead. The id is in control.
