I forgot to preface the helmet picture... long story short I gave my H a helmet last year sometime as a gift. Turns out, apparently, motorcycle and racecar helmets are different (or the certification stamp is, anyway). I got the right certification year but bought the motorcycle one by accident. It's "legal" for the driving school but won't be once he's into actual racing, so he had to buy another helmet. When his new helmet arrived he talked about selling the "motorcycle" one, more money for racing... then he set them together on the table and said "Or maybe we should save it for track days - 'his and hers' helmets." We took the picture shortly after that comment.
ST - I think my cheeks look sooo silly in that picture!! But even that, I see a 180 in myself.. it's weird when you surprise YOURSELF with 180s. I realized "old me" would have been irritated or frustrated or thinking "this is so uncomfortable" or "I look icky, I'll never wear this helmet again!" Now? We had a great laugh about it, I even made a "fish face" for a bit, and we took pics together.
Michelle - thanks! Yes, my H is SO proud of the flowers (and I am, too, but it's neat that he cares so much). They're all blooming now and H keeps commenting how it just looks better as the days go by.
Dave - I sure hope so! It feels like progress, just sooo scary to trust it.
H is driving and I'm riding passenger. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, it's still worth checking out from 2:10 up to about 3:15 (minutes). Closest we've come to actually contacting another car... that one freaked me out a bit!
After that - H is driving an old Eagle Talon and is SO proud of being able to keep up with this practically brand new Evo... it's similar in that it's all wheel drive, but it's got a LOT more power than he does, so it says a lot about his driving skills that he keeps up with it.

Oh I nearly forgot.. nice PMA boost... it was sunny and SO gorgeous here today. First time out this year with the convertible top down.. ahhh it felt good.

hey, you guys need a pic of you guys in front of the car or somethin. Me and s3 watched the whole thing, that would be so fun, I always meant to take my 71 monte to the drag races, but ended up totalling it.
Nik, I would have been the same way on the helmet. Why do we end up creating such an insecure selfconscious being???? I think of the girls on sat night live, and think, wow, I don't think I could ever make myself look stupid and have people laugh at me, that takes a lot of courage and probably a good self image... or else they just don't give a crap.

--------------------- So far so good this week... nothing major good or bad, but it's nice to feel relaxed for a little while. I had bellydance class tonight and realized it's my 10th class. Wow!! I even kept up with about 90% of it. Considering the first class I could only do maybe half the "warm up" workout and about 1/3 of the moves, I'm pretty happy with my progress. I can even do a few steps that somewhat resemble a dance move. Up until very recently I could do each of the "elements" individually but trying to string them together to look like anything? No way. Now I can actually shimmy AND move my arms at the same time. Yeah yeah, it doesn't sound impressive, until you try to DO it..
Nothing else much new to report.. glad to keep seeing those small but steady positives happening in my sitch, finally feels like we're moving in some kind of direction.
