Liz, my H hasn't initiated or asked or implied anything like that on any day... The minimum I would say, is that he is comfortable with your presence and that gives you the room to show who you are and who is person he chose to leave behind.
A card would be like a lifetime committment for him right now if he is anything like mine (I think we have established that so far).
