On the flowers - I agree that it's a good idea as a "Thank you" for the party. Maybe even attach a little "Thank you" card to it so it's clear that's what they're for. (unless dinner tonight goes really great - in that case, maybe they can be more "romantic" in nature!)

I worked half day Friday but as usual when you need to get out something comes up so it took a little longer... I came home and wanted to at least put up the railing on son's tree house... W was leaving to go get party stuff and do some shopping...... After I finished the railing... (I may post a pic). I moved the jeep into the garage for some last minute tweaking... When W came home she had this BIG smile on her face and was holding this HUGH lawn sign that said: LOOK WHO IS TURNING 50...
She laughed and said "when I saw this I had to get it... If you don't want me to put it on the lawn we can put it out back somewhere". I told her "no problem put it out front I think it's great....
She was really busy and asked if I could call and push out the reservations...so I did and it was no problem.... We stopped by the Round table pizza where my oldest D is manager and picked up a pizza for MIL and son.
(Side note... NikB wanted me to meet 4-5 now people a day on my trip.... Well while I was at the pizza pallor I saw this life size card board cutout of a Night in armor.... I asked D if I could have it to take with me on my trip.... I would take pictures with him during my journey.... She Ok’ed it with her boss..... Cool... what a way to meet people and pick up on chicks...

Ok now back to last night.....After we dropped of son, we went to dinner... I brought my "trip book" with me... this has pictures and maps of all of the places I want to see..... W really enjoyed it.... It was GREAT..... Now this is not the first "dinner Date" we have been on since this crap all started. The first one was Soooo awkward.... It was like a business meeting...But..... Last night was like a REAL first date... Like we really did not know each other and were really interested in getting to know each other...... W had wine and I had some home brew beer...we both ended up ordering the same dinner some prawn dish... I had lobster bisque... W had French Onion soup... and we both had cream burley (sp) it's this custard like dish that they set on fire....
Ok here is where I kind of blew it... Remember I was up at 2:00am that morning and went to work and when I got home was busy around the house....... WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS TAKE A NAP...... when Dinner was finished W wanted me to order some chocolate cheese cake to go to bring home for her mom and our son I did and when the bill came $115.00 w asked how I was going to pay for this... I told her I was going to use my trip money... She said why don’t you put it on the credit card... Even though it is getting out of control... I should use my trip money on my trip..... She said she needs to get a job .... things will be getting tight soon..... On the way to MIL house she asked if I was going to take son to Eureka for our annual camping trip....I told her of course we had to go we buried a "treasure “ there last year and need to go dig it up..... When we got to MIL house Before W got out I put my arm around her and gave her a kiss and thanked her for going to dinner with me.... She said "No thank you for taking me".... So we go into MiL house and give her the desert and I sat down in the living room and was watching TV with son and then it happened...... I FELL ASLEEP....... Next thing I know W and son have their coats on and are standing there looking at me saying ok lets go.... I came home and after taking the dog out to do her thing came in and sat down on bed and passed out......
BUT....... I had a great dinner..... It really felt like a new beginning.......got to go and clean up yard for my Party today

I fix machines electrical and mechanical for a living. Your leg intrests me. The machine shop at my work could make some aluminum parts for you. I could hook you up.
