I haven't heard from my son either, but hope to. He will be opening my E Valentine shortly. I sent him one with a talking cat - he has 2 so it will make him laugh. He will read it when he gets to work today.
Your son sounds wonderful! Homegrown roses in winter - you must live in the south! I have some lovely flowers outside of my rooms - mostly hibiscus, but I've seen roses - such a treat for those of us snowbirds.
