The real world isn't always all it's cracked up to be, in fact lately it's been very cold (literally) and very cruel (literally) ... But other than a couple of rough days I'm dealing with all of it just fine! There's still plenty of good in the world if you look hard enough and happiness comes from within.

So what happens in 3 days? Don't leave me hanging!

Happy Friday.
Nothing to exciting to report from northern Minnesota. It’s cold (16 below this morning) and snowing but it’s supposed to warm up this weekend some say it might even get above freezing.

S16 is still playing basketball and doing very well. S19 loves living in the big city and is doing very well in college he made dad very proud by making the Dean’s list again.

I haven’t had any contact with EX for a couple weeks now and I think that is really helping my PMA. She is a very negative person and my attitude keeps getting better as I block her out of my life.

I went out to dinner with “nice lady” and a small group of people for Valentine’s Day, that was nice.

I’m anxious for spring and warm weather, I’m looking forward to working out on the farm again. I don’t know what it is but I just love spending time out in the field driving trucks and tractors, it’s nice to have a little extra cash also.

I’m really starting to feel comfortable being single. I still don’t know where life is taking me but I’m not too worried about it right now. I just want to make the most of this last year or so with S16 and take one day at a time. Things seem to have a way of falling in place over time.

Spring is in the air when it gets above the freezing level, isn't it? It's all of 21 today and the sun is shining. Makes a huge difference in Jillville!!!!

It set me back a bit when my friend was killed but I've made my peace with it and I'm confidant that justice will be served.

It has also really helped since I quit allowing EX to poison my attitude with all the crap she was serving.

Certainally the prospect of spring being just around the corner is also having a positive effect.

Now I just need to keep telling myself that I just need to live from day to day and I don't need to worry about the future.

I bet it did more than "set you back." I hope you have a good, safe sounding board type person so you can talk about that. Being away from your EX at a time like this probably is a big help, too.

I thought of you and Kev when I saw this at Borders the other day. If I ever get for real back in the game myself, maybe I'll pick up a copy. Could there be lessons for a Harry Homeowner type guy astride my riding mower in there?

Brrrrrrrr! Winter just doesn’t want to give up this year. It was 31 below again this morning, much colder than expected, the weather people just don’t seem to be able to predict these cold spells this year. This morning on the radio I heard a frustrated meteorologist say that he wasn’t even going to try to predict how cold it’s going to be for the next few days but only that it’s going to be “brutally cold”. It was 35 above last Saturday, that’s like a 65 deg swing in temp in just a couple days. Only in Minnesota…

I think EX is starting to lose it. This weekend she called S16 and got into a big fight until he hung up on her, then she called S19 and got him all upset. Meanwhile she was sending me texts, and leaving me messages telling me all the bad things she hopes happen to me (I don’t answer her calls). I am starting to think this is just a control tactic of hers, if she can make people upset then she feels like she still has some control over them. Now the really weird part, this morning she sent me a text “I might say bad things about you but I still love you”.--- What the…. I mean… Did I miss something??? AAARRRRRRGGG!!!! Very strange. I think I’ll just ignore it all, I don’t want to reward her by giving her a reaction.

I did start more plum wine this weekend and I have 14 gallons of apple that is almost ready to bottle. It will be interesting to see how the apple turns out, I haven’t had the best luck with apple in the past but I decided to try it one more time. I found a recipe for wheat whine, I think I’ll try that next.

Other than that it’s quite peaceful here in brutally cold ALL land. Frankly it’s too darn cold out to get into too much trouble. Good news, now they say it’s supposed to be 30 something above this weekend. I don’t have much else to report.
