I helped start a local writers' group tonight. It'll get me out of the house and maybe even off the streets every other week. I just need to write something to send to the others within a week, and then read what they send before we meet again so I can provide them feedback. I hope this helps me get serious about writing. A lot of co-inky-dinks lately have me wondering if God wants me to get serious about writing, but this isn't the place to go into that.
So, what's new with you guys?
Thanks,
Joe

Way to go Joe!! oh yea I see you writing, you are most exceptional
so what sort of things will you be writing?
my bf D is majoring in journalism, I just read something she did for class and it was soooo good! I envy those who are so colorful and free flowing w/ their writing, you feel you are right there with them.
Good Luck Joe!!
AND if you ever want to try out your writings I may not write good but I can read really well

Don't give me that "It's early!" stuff, here's a bottle!
I'll be working on colorful, in particular, because that has seemed like a weak spot in my writing to me, not enough good evocative descriptions.
I'll show you what I'm writing when I get something. One of my comments to a woman tonight was that her husband's reviews of her work would be at least as valuable as whatever she gets from other writers, since he's a "reader," not another writer.
Thanks,
Joe

What kind of writing are you getting serious about?
Good luck! You know what I say...[insert seat of pants advice here...]
Have you thought about writing a blog? Several writers I know have blogs. Some are more prolific than others. Here is Orson Scott Card's and Suzette Hadin Elgin's blogs.
I have toyed with the idea of a blog myself. I think it could even potentially develop into a small income stream. I am just trying to decide on what the focus could be.
I think a writers group is an EXCELLENT idea! Way to go Joe!

I'm working on a short story as I type about how a certain main character came to be an unwilling and unwitting author. It came to mind between my last post here and the one on Pam's thread where I whined (I didn't give up complaining!) that you hadn't posted a link to a recipe.
Now I need to take the laptop and some Dots to my bed and start typing that instead of this. Seat of the pajama pants to the heated blanket, with the extra warmth of the laptop battery!
Thanks,
Joe
