You can have the stone reset into something you would feel more comfortable wearing, like a pendant.
I was wondering about a ring I got for my 25th.....if I should/could wear it on my right hand. It might not be a happy thing, though, so thought of just saving it for D17. Hadn't thought about having it reset. Thanks for the idea (although since it's a heart shaped diamond not sure if it would like right made into something else).
