My late H and I had no problem getting ready at the same time and in plenty of time.
My bf and I usually are ready at the same time, but if he's not and if it's really important that I be somewhere, I take my own car and go without him and he follows. It felt kind of pi$$y the first couple of times I did it, but eventually we both accepted that as a reasonable solution.
It's never been, like, a *problem* ... just a minor, albeit recurring, irritation. For those who have been following the Zoo, one day I just asked myself, "Ok, how could I be less dysfunctional Cowoness about this and more monkey?"
Damme if it didn't work like a charm ......

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about (Zoo, Cowoness, what??), but it sounds like you are naturals at the kinds of things Michele is talking about in A Woman's Guide to Changing Her Man: Without his even knowing it!
I have a very hard time with playful - it's easier with my children, but still not really something I do a lot. Thanks for the ideas.
Mojo is the zookeeper around here. She came up with (see if I get these right) Bunny as the cuddly persona, monkey as the playful (sexy) one, cow as the maternal-caretaker (to be used minimally, and virtually never with partner), lioness... I'm not sure what her claim to fame is... ferocity, anger, kicking butt and taking names? There's a summary of these on one of Mojo's thread. Maybe if you search for zookeeper you'll find it.
