Ooh, ooh, ooh stayin' alive, stayin alive'. Oh yeah, that's finished, sorry. Anyway, today was a big crisis at work! I went over to our other unit and found OSB in the front lobby feverishly spraying water on the office plants. I greeted her and she turned to me, eyes bugging out of her head, and she said "the plants, they're dying and I'm in charge of them, I don't know what to do!" OMG, she looked like she'd just found a headless corpse in the lobby. We discussed the options to waylay the impending plant deaths, as though I have any friggin clue! At one point she was actually jumping up and down "I told my boss not to give me the plants because I've killed every plant I've ever owned and he said this was my opportunity to change that life long pattern" Poor OSB, I really did try to keep a straight face, I've seen this little woman take on guys twice her size and put them in their place, but office plants...well, that's a whole different ballgame. Yes, the social services system is just an enigma inside an enigma, a complicated...blah blah blah, you never know what assignment will greet you on any given day LOL. Anyway, I didn't tell any of the guys about this cuz they'd just razz her about it and I think she was really seriously concerned about the whole plant thing. Hey, when you're new at a job any assigned task feels like a major responsibility! I was gonna suggest that we collect the dead leaves, roll them and smoke them at lunch hour but I held back the urge, it may have been a comment lacking in empathy, unsuitable for the moment. Well, tonight I am off to a prayer meeting at church, I'll put in a good word for those plants as they head off to a better place.
