My friends, how are you doing? My question for you today is: Do you or will you believe that God can indeed heal and restore?
Do you or will you believe that God can change a heart? Do you or will you believe that God can bring a dead marriage back to life?
No matter how long you've been waiting for God to heal and restore, He is able to do the impossible in your situation. The word "impossible" just doesn't fit with God. Our Great God is unable to be unable! It isn't in His nature. He is neither weak nor impotent. God is unable to fail in your situation. He cannot make a mistake. He is utterly unable to be unable. It's simply impossible for any thing to be impossible for God! All things are possible (including restoration) for God.
You may not see it or feel it, but even now, God is at work in your impossible situation. Even though we can't understand, believe it. Stand on God's promises.. He can do anything. He is able to save your wayward spouse. He is able to change a heart. God can turn Nothing into Something. God makes the impossible possible.
Proverbs 16:9 ) 'In his heart a man plans his course, but the lord determines his steps'
Yes, God has the power to change a heart. (AMEN!)
Proverbs 21:1 - "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will."
Gods' power is awesome, absolutely nothing is hard for Him. We are important to Him. We are children of the promise. God is involved in your situation. He simply can't be separated from any aspect of your life since He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Orchestrator of all that is. He is actively involved in all details of His creation.
God is in control of your situation. The Bible teaches that nothing happens in this world that is beyond the knowledge and control of God. "The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all" (Ps. 103:19). He is God Almighty (Ps. 66:7). He is the sovereign Lord of all.
John 11:43 - "And when He thus had spoken, He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth."
Many times we feel like God waits too long to answer our prayers and deliver us from a terrible situation. But our problem couldn't be any worse than Lazarus' — he had been dead for four days before Jesus showed up! Will you trust the Lord to bring your dead marriage back to life? He did it for Lazarus and will do it for you.
My dear friends, will you believe that He is God and can do the impossible in your situation? Nothing, repeat, NOTHING is hard for the Lord. Have faith in God.
Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.(Hmmmm....Now where did I mention that recently???);)

Amy,
I have absolute faith in God's ability! I stood on that faith for a good while even after my H divorced me. But considering the fact that he remarried less than a year after D'ing me.... I gave up that stand. Am I to believe that God will restore our relationship and destroy yet another family in the process???? Or just that HE can???
I have no problem trusting God's intentions...... It's our free will that gives me pause.
Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
The new "marriage" is not a covenant marriage, imo.
There does sometimes come a point when one has to move on depending on the circumstances. I can not tell anyone if that is the case in their sitch or if it ever will be. That is between a person and God. All I know is that I am not released from standing.
Can I just ask what is this... "The new "marriage" is not a covenant marriage, imo." My x remarried and I felt the same as l-n-f. I always thought good cannot come from "evil" but its lasted 3 years now. So whats the diference in the first and second marriage and does that apply to all secong mariages or only those that come from an affair? Sorry to interupt the thread.
Yep.... I 'd like to believe that we can live in the concrete ... black and white. There is just entirely too much gray that interferes with that dream.
Sorry.... wan't trying to put a downer on your thread. It was just something I hadn't quite understood..... and that post brought it back up. Thought I'd get some opinions from others.
Carry on......
Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Here is just one perspective of a covenant marriage.
Again, I am not debating second or subsequent marriages on this thread. If it applies to you, you'll have to figure it out for yourself. I'm sorry but I don't know those answers. I only know that I don't believe if a man (or woman) leaves his/her spouse and then ends up marrying the om/ow, it will then be a blessed union. Not without repentence. But that is my opinion.
