I'll take a piece please. So I've never had a piece of King Cake although I've heard of it before. What kind of cake is it? Is it a yellow cake or a pound cake? Is the baby supposed to be good luck? If so I'll eat the whole cake to get to it. LOL
Wonder what happened to Delia?

King Cakes are usually a coffee cake dough with a cinnamon twist covered with white icing and purple, green and gold sugar. The baby is a little plastic doll. The person who gets the baby buys the next king cake for the next party. King Cakes are available from 12th night through Mardi Gras day. The one we have here is different though. It seems to be more of a puff pastry dough and it is filled with cream cheese, with the usual frostings. It is a big improvement IMHO.
