Hi. things are not what I anticipated. I met with my two friends/business associates yesterday in the cold and rain, and we had a nice day. We toured some of the devastated areas of New Orleans, did a little business meeting and had a very sinful dinner at a very fine restaurant. But before the day was over, my daughter called and told me she was sick and couldn't make it home to New Orleans from her job in the suburbs. So I went to my friends house for the night, and checked on my daughter this morning. She was running a fever, and had a very sore throat. So I took her to the doctor and she does have strep. Anyway, we made it back to her house in the city and I bought a couple of space heaters for her apt. and cooked a chicken noodle soup. But she was in so much pain even after taking the prescription pain medication that she was crying when she tried to eat. So I have changed my flight home to stay until monday. And I will take care of her til then. She took more pain medicine and seems to be doing better now. That was the low point. So hopefully from here on out, things will be better. Now if the sun would come out.
Sara, I'm so sorry she is sick. Strep is so painful for an adult. I'm glad you are there to take care of her. What timing! Hopefully those antibiotics will kick in soon.

Thanks Guys. She is doing better now. I like being a Mommy again for a day. Makes me feel important. We are lucky she has such good friends in the town we used to live in. Her friend slept on the sofa while Niki slept in her bed.
Sara, Would you care for a glass also? Bob, yours is being poured right now. Hope you don't mind white zinfandel. My friend gave it to me on new years eve.
Sara, that is great that she has such awesome friends. I know it has to make you feel better knowing they are around when you're back at home.
