I was thinking about the zoo last night, lying next to Ms.Hdog. I imagined her lioness and her monkey cowering in the shadows of their cages. Her bunny is the spawn of the Rabbit of Caerbannog from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," ("That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!"). Her cow is, well, a decent cow. I suppose her lioness and monkey come out of hiding to protect and play with our daughter, but slink back to the shadows when called out by me.

And the zookeeper, she thinks all is fine and dandy and is unwilling to do anything to change her zoo, or to give any weight to comments, complaints, suggestions, etc. from the zoo-goers. The unfortunate thing is that she will be the keeper of a zoo without any visitors. But maybe that's her preference. Until then, the animals that get nurtured and fed remain her cow and her killer bunny. The other two just sleep.
