he monkey actually wants to sense as much desire as possible from the wolf but because the monkey is a rebel she also wants to not do what others want her to do. So she wants to be compelled to do what she wants to do against her will.
See... Mo... I think you are talking about a Lioness. Monkeys are pretty much GAME. Did you not watch the clip? A monkey teases in order to get someone to play. What you are talking about above... is more of a male cat/female cat kind of thing... maybe you should watch a Lion Mating Dance, and you'd see what I mean...

That, his last response, to me, is asking for Lioness. Now if he said... "cuz I'm holding it just out of your reach... nah, nah, you can't get it..." that's asking for monkey. The former... is asking for full frontal Lioness assault... which a Lioness may or may NOT decide she wants to do... so she might then say...
"Of course I WANT **a** banana.... but what makes YOUR banana worth me peeling it?"
