Maybe you can look into those home parties? Tastefully Simple is a good one to work for/with. They cost a bit to start up in order to have a sales kits for your parties, but at least you get to keep the items for your use and all if it doesn't work out. I'm thinking about joining Tastefully Simple now myself, but going back and forth on that.
