I really don't think BF is nosing around. Our life together is exactly the same as it has been for the past couple of years with the exception of sleeping in the same bed and my expectations of boyfriend behavior. I do think he likes being around me as long as I don't have those expectations. We enjoy each other's company. He wants to keep me up to date on what he's doing at his property, because, well... that's the sort of thing you want to talk to somebody about and who else is there but me?
If and when I do get interested in another man, I wonder how he will react... I've never seen him act jealous. I think he prides himself on his detachment. Also when I look back over our time together, he really never asked much of me or expected much of me. We went along on parallel tracks.
Re the Prof. As I said, I'm hyper-alert to red flags. One thing is that he's self-consciously eccentric. It's something of a performance. Could be just because he's in front of a classroom. I don't mind the performing aspect... I just wonder if he's like that in private. Is he always in this "eccentric, perfectionistic professor" persona. Time will tell.
