Mojo Egads, I'm hardly playing hard-to-get with the guy. I simply don't have the urge to call somebody if they're calling me every day.
I understand. I read the original post as him stating a fact more than him looking for an opinion.

Re my friend:
He's probably scaring women off because he's too serious........ Dating should be fun, not a LTR interview process.
Agreed.

The (friend's location) 115 miles to a decent size town influences him and other people to be serious. It might be difficult for some people in more populated parts of the country to visualize, but imagine the next small town being 50 miles to the east or if you travel north on the only road going north, the town of 6K population is also about 50 miles distant.

This friend dated a woman that lived 450 miles from where he lives. I thought she was the one but after a while the size of his town and his working class job (safety foreman for a really large company) turned her off. I know they both spent almost too much for travel and lodging expenses. He did most of the visiting and other gentlemanly things.

Just some reasons to be serious.

Lil Lou-- (BTW, I'm glad you went back to your original name)
I tried to be a D.I.Y. / fix it myself guy but it wasn't working out that way. There have been some improvements to the R but mostly SSDD.

When it comes to DIY around the house, no problem. I can even build a house, repair most of the things on a car, even teach myself a new trade if I have the time and $$, but R work, I need help so decided to go back to C a few times.

And if someone isn't calling you back enough ……
I was looking at that statement from 3 different ways. I saw the who did the calling as a statement, then possibly a hidden question, and I also saw it from a man’s PO, is he more interested than she is. Even that last item can be taken two ways.

One, why isn’t she more interested and two, If Mo isn’t interested that much, why push yourself on someone. That isn’t good for him or her.

Like you and others say, if there isn’t must spark/chemistry happening, maybe it’s time to look elsewhere. I know some people act interested, but I found out later they were being social.

Clearly he's not imagining that he's calling Mojo more than she's calling him. And there's only one reason why Person A does not call Person B. Because Person A does not want to talk to Person B. For a variety of reasons, all of which IN THIS CASE are irrelevant.

I say kick this guy to the curb, Mojo. If he's insecure now, how about when you refuse to marry him? Hmmm?

Hey Mojo,

A catalog showed up in the mail today and as I was fliiping through it, something caught my eye and I thought of you and your fun loving attitude. We are not too far apart in age, so I'm guessing that you probably had some of these in necklace form when you were a kid (fck, I don't know...they probably still make them)

Just a thought for that trip you got coming up...hell, I might even have to order one for little Miss IC ;\) {kind of goes along with my signature line }

It's just so ridiculous that I actually presented my proto-relationship with FSG as something worthy of analysis by the BB. Here's what we did last night:

1) Watched "American Idol" together on the phone.

2) Talked about what kind of ice cream we wished we were eating.

3) FSG "tricked" me into revealing what kind of underwear I was wearing for about the 10th time.

Basically, we are conspiring to have a fun relationship that is at about a 7th grade level because we deserve it.

Pffft. You're too smart to kid yourself like that.

In what way am I kidding myself? Hmmm...perhaps I should note that FSG grew up on the city streets and his "scene" would be hip-hop/rap and his last LTR was with a woman who was 5'9"/190 and had short spikey blond hair and tattoos covering one calf and half her back. Remember his sexual ideal is Anna Nicole Smith.

Let's Review My Men Since Separation:

Teddy: Was member of Irish/Italian gang featured in West Side Story. Told me he majored in Frisbee and mushrooms in college.

NG: Semi-famous artist in Detroit Punk/Garage Rock scene. Hangs with women who vibe like younger versions of Deborah Harry.

GP: Born in projects. Toured with Parliament. Semi-professional athlete. Twelve year relationship with female body builder.

In summary, I only seriously date men who are more experienced and more "street" than me, so that's why I say it's a "conspiracy" or a choice when we interact like goofy romantic 7th graders. FSG is a couple years younger than me so we have more of a peer relationship than I had with GP but they both laugh at me when I try to act tough because relative to them I am Miss Molly the library girl.

My sister is currently in a mutually "madly in love" relationship with a seriously sexy 53 year old man who was a member of one of the semi-famous pre-punk bands that toured with Iggy Pop. He became a Christian after quitting drugs/drinking and is only having pre-marital sex with my sister because she needs it regular for post-cervical cancer reasons. They have "conspired" to have a basically sub/dom "Taken In Hand" type relationship and my sister has been semi-useless as a business partner lately because she wanders about in a dopamine haze concerning herself with such matters as how cool it was that she was able to purchase ruffled panties in an adult woman size on sale at K-Mart.

Okay, I was trying to make some kind of point here/ Did I succeed? - lol

John Updike in one of his books wrote something like "You know the relationship is about over when you start f*cking each other with vegetables." It's not that there's anything wrong with using items from the produce department for sexual pleasure, it's just that there is a limit to how long or hard you can sing a song of experience or how far you can push the excitement factor. You have to be able to sing a song of innocence and renew emotional connection both as an individual or in a relationship or you'll burn out or become jaded or hard. Maybe that's why I say it's important for a guy to be strong puppy sometimes.

MJ,

I am taken with the idea of you sister needing regular sex for "medical reasons" - man, maybe the rest of this board should use that reason. OK, maybe my need is more mental-emotional but the brain is part of the body and it can therefore be termed a medical need. Right?

MJ - this guy is intriguing. I'm just kinda waiting to see what strange, ickiness you uncover later.

Oh, I definitely agree. I was serious when I once said that I probably added at least 5 years to my life by leaving my SSM. Another interesting thing about my sister's sich is that it lends evidence to the HD due to biochemicals line of thinking. They tried to save her ovaries but they were fried due to radiation so her levels of estrogen and testosterone plummeted. She said that she still wanted to have sex and she still had sexual fantasies but her baseline "horniness" went way down. Now she takes estrogen and uses a bio-identical testosterone gel and she says she can titrate it to produce her natural level of horniness or even a bit more for fun -lol- and she hasn't had any androgenic side-effects.
