I do have some hearing loss because of the types of work I have done. Seeing a person speak helps tremendously.
I sat in the front row because I wanted to avoid the chatter in the back of the room. Also sitting in the front row some how motivated me to do all the reading ahead that helped me understand what was going on in the class.
seeing an interested face somewhere in that mass of adolescent faces makes all the difference in the world. One tends to play to it I didn't know that till one temp prof said it felt so good to have an adult the same age really pay attention, show up for every class, and see the dedication of the older students..
She didn't admit giving me points for paying attention but I think I got a few. Her grading system was based on class participation, class attendance, submitted writings, and of course test grades. (English 103)
It sounds like TS/BF is in his patch of clover. I was thinking he might stay with his mother more.
