Our rings were never fancy and we only bought something because I insisted. My H never wore his ring except on special ocassions, I haven't seen it for 3 years.
Before I ever knew what was really happening to my M I took my ring off to 'shock' my H. It didn't work, surprise! I put it back on. Then I learned of H's extra activities. I was one of the women who always said if their H ever cheated he was elgonno! I was wrong about myself.
After another year of wearing my ring and being consumed by dwelling on H/M/R and I had to find someway to move forward. I took my ring off again. It was months before I quit fiddling with where my ring was but taking it off really helped me let go of all the wrongs and being a victim.
H has never asked or shown any sign that he has noticed anything on or off. It's been almost 2 years since it's been off, I still wear the mark of where it wrapped my finger and my heart.
