Thanks for the advice. Will leave it this week - S7 (Tuesday S8!) birthday, so don't want to rock the boat and we have friends coming across next weekend. So it will be after that.
I have honestly never seen any presents OP brought for W. Suspect a CD set in the car is from him, but W told me she bought them and I have not pressed on that either...just let it slide.
