Yeah... so the game was almost a repeat of last year. Very disappointing, but there is always next year!!
W had pretty much accepted (and was actually pretty cool about) us going to watch the game with friends. For whatever reason, she was still at work when I picked D3 up. I opted to pick D5 up first then D3. Part of me thinks she just wanted to see me. She looked sad when I picked the girls up. I acted "as if" and was in a good mood. A few goofy issues came up.. evidently OM painted the girls nails (what a girl!!) after W and I agreed D5 wasn't allowed to have nail polish until she stops chewing her fingernails. I simply reminded W that D5 wasn't supposed to have nail polish.
I was happy and cheery getting the girls out.. W carried D3 out and there were some "mommy.. are you coming with us?" I simply said "No.. mommy has other things to do" she looked very sad. She just stared as we pulled away.
W called while in the garage asking about some stuff. Asked about the girls. She has this lingering thing going on when we talk.
Once the game started, she texted me.. "Go Buckeyes".. I replied "Hell yeah!!" then she texted "Good luck!! Tell everyone I say hi!" to which I replied "Thanks.. I did!" and that was it.
All in all a great evening.. even though they lost, I had fun and the girls had fun. Kept the R talk to a minimum. OM's name came up once and my friends W asked "Who's OM?".. simply said "her BF" D5 says "Mommy's BF"
I really wish the Bucks would've won... on the way up, D5 said "They're going to lose!" I asked "Where did you hear that?" D5 "OM".. I wanted to say "Well OM is stupid" but I didn't.
So.. again W continues in her true form of only calling when she wants/needs something.
She called and asked how the girls were. Actually had a decent conversation. Talked about the Bucks and how next year is another year (they have already been picked to finish #3).. then a little interesting conversation.
W is starting another semester next week. She has decided to attend day classes 2x a week. Evidently, work has gotten a little tired of her act (late quite a bit, not really into work etc) so they are seriously cutting her hours. They've knocked her down to 24 hours a week. I'm wondering if W made some unrealistic requests and this is how they responded. Long story short, they are trying to phase her out. Evidently they've been looking for an excuse for quite sometime.
W is also a little silly. She's complained numerous times about the pay vs discount we've gotten. This school is a good (expensive) private school. We get a 70-80% discount and she expects to be payed like a regular employee + the discount. When she got her last raise, she was blindly happy.. even though they raised our tuition and we lost money on the deal.
So.. she's decided to start looking elsewhere. Not sure how this is going to work given her college plans, but we'll see. She wanted her resume. I have a work computer, so I wouldn't put it on there. It's probably on the laptop she took (which was a B-day present to me BTW). I'm betting her BF wiped it as she was having some issues. I noticed my login was gone and the admin passwd was changed. I hope he backed it up, as we had ALL our digital photos from our digital camera on there.
This concerns me as I pay daycare as a part of my child support. If she goes somewhere else and plays dumb, my payments could be going up.
Of course W doesn't realize it's her actions that have caused this. They are the bad people. Not her.
...about the Bucks and how next year is another year (they have already been picked to finish #3)..
Funny.... Notre Dame was picked to finish #3 this season...
I will tell you what I told another Buckeye supporter back in November: The winds of change are blowing in college football. What blew through South Bend, Lincoln, Tallahassee, Miami, Lousiville, Seattle, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and College Station are going to blow through Columbus. It may not be next year... but it's going to happen in the next five years.
All of the above mentioned cities had, at one time, great college football teams that did not go bowling this season. And the winds blew into Lawrence (KS), Champ/Urbana, Honolulu, Cincinnati, Columbia (MO), and Storrs (CT).
It's gonna rotate. Prepare for a great wailing and gnashing of teeth...
Regarding your situation... You are doing well (expensive tuition.. hmm,.. not hard to figure where she goes to school... when I was local, I opted for the less-expensive alternative for my MBA, BTW).
Oh I have no doubt the cycle will hit Columbus. I have a hard time putting a tail on it with Tressel, but it does go in cycles. It will be fairly quick to see how they will do next year given USC is their 2nd game. Although I would prefer that wind go blow down south for a while. The one thing OSU has had has been great recruiting. I think the last 2 years will hurt them a bit in that department. QB seems to be a goofy spot for them. They either have one or they don't. Boeckman is not.
As for the sitch, not much else I can do. When I was talking school, she works/teaches at a daycare and attends a college in Northern Kentucky (not to name names!!) for her degree.
Should be interesting if she leaves. She has been partying with some folks from there, but I have a feeling once she leaves.. they will all abandon her. She's not a good friend. The one's she's been hanging with use her and she's too doofy to see it.

The #2 QB's brother is on the pee-wee football team that I coach, BTW, so there's no shortage of Rob S fans in my circle of friends here.
I kinda hope they stay strong until the 2012 season. Circle September 8, 2012. Your Buckeyes come to visit PBS.

Well, I didn't think she was in high school!!! Sheesh... I know where she goes to school. Good college, BTW.

My bust on the school.. just wanted to clarify she doesn't work for a college... I wished!!
Actually.. one of the folks we knew (she would never make friends with the right people!!) was a Professor at UC. They moved a while back to Columbus. I think we are pretty lucky having so many good schools within reach.
Does Northern Kentucky have a child care co-op? Often schools that offer degrees in child development will have a facility in which students can gain experience under supervision with the children of enrolled students. This might be an option if your W is enrolled there. Good daycare costs a fortune...for my two boys it costs as much as my mortgage.
I hope W's work situation doesn't result in her trying to get money out of you.
