Thank you Punktman...These thoughts brought out a good cry last night. How sad to have lost him on your birthday. But, you certainly gave him a fitting tribute.
I find peace in the fact that Lt. did not suffer....his passing was immediate. I kissed him on his cheek and picked him up and held him for about 20 minutes....letting the tears flow. I was able to accept what had happened having that time with him, it seems. More tears.
