This will be the first year when I won't have all my kids with me at midnight. My eldest two are at other parties - it makes me feel sad - I like to have all my chicks around me to welcome in the new year. I guess it's the dawn of a new era for me. Wish I could be with all you lot.

I second that toast to the new year. Here's hoping for a better year in 2008, whichever way the chips fall. It makes me feel good knowing that there are so many caring individuals on this board and I hope things work out for you all.

I just realized this morning that this will be the first time in 17 yrs that I will not watching the ball drop with my wife. Time to embrace the change.
